Nicole Nemeth, DVM, PhD

 

Dr. Nemeth Nicole is the Director of the Southeastern Cooperative Wildlife Disease Study’s Diagnostic Service and runs the SCWDS Veterinary Extern Program. She is a diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Pathology. Prior to joining the faculty at UGA she was at the Ontario Veterinary Collage, University of Guelph where she ran the Toronto Zoo Pathology Program and was an Associate of the Canadian Wildlife Health Cooperative. She has spent about 20 years researching mosquito- and tick-borne diseases of wildlife and at the wildlife-human and livestock interfaces, including work at the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and US Dept of Agriculture-National Wildlife Research Center.  Her research interests include infectious diseases of wildlife and wild bird disease and conservation. She currently has a joint faculty position at UGA in the Depts. of Population Health and Pathology.
